Innnnnn the Metropolitan area, born and raised.... on the playground is where I spent most of my days... chillin out, maxin and relaxin all cool LOL. Icebreakerr. I never knew it was this hard to write about yourself until this very moment. Sheesh! Anywhoooo. HEYYYY YALLL! My name is ALLISON. Some people call me Allo, for short. I am the mom of the most amazing, sweet, handsome young boy. Some days I'm pretty goofy and extroverted.. Other days I'm very to myself and introverted. I love all things junk food. God knew exactly what he was doing when he gave me this super fast metabolism cuz I haven't fully transitioned to yalls "clean eating" lifestyle yet. I am obviously not a writer lol, but we gon' make this bio work, okay? Oh one more thing. I LUHH GOD, you don't luhh God? What's wrong with you?? *insert bankhead bounce* lol
Born and raised in the DMV area, I have been surrounded around fashion my entire life. Most people sleep(slang for "overlook") on the DMV because they get us mixed up with Baltimore(no shade) or think everybody is wearing ski clothes and polo boots when its barely cold outside, like the youngins(slang for young adults) down Gallery Place(no shade to them either); However, the DC area definitely has it's own look. It's own flare. It's own signature style. And I've always wanted to be a part of it.
Beginning my modeling career my senior year of high school, and experiencing the glam prep, as well as the exhilarating feeling of strutting down the runway for the first time, I was like, "ohhhhh I can definitely get used to this!" I just knew that's what I wanted to do.... until I realized I was actually short. To do runway anyway. So I dropped that dream and began working full time. I still modeled here and there, but moreso as a hobby, not for anything long term. No matter what I did however, or other things I tried to pursue, I kept getting pulled back into the fashion arena. So in 2013, I began modeling again but this time with more intention on networking and focusing on exactly what I really wanted to pursue.
Learning and capitalizing on my gifts and talents, although modeling was fun, I started to develop an interest for wardrobe styling and ironically web design. My mom had been a personal stylist at Nordstrom for years, my dad swears he's a fashion guru, and I felt I was pretty fashion savvy myself. Always being asked for fashion advice or to be styled for different events, I began to market myself as a wardrobe stylist. Initially, I didn't know if I had what it took to step outside of myself and dress someone with a different body type, and not have them look exactly like me, but so many people trusted in my gifts and ability that business literally took off. As far as the web design, I’ve always had a “techy” background and just never really tapped into it….until I needed it to. The rest is history lol.
Over the past couple of years, I've really taken the time to craft, build, nurture and mature my gifts and talents, and I am beyond ready to take the world on by storm; However, there's a lot more to Allison than just the fashion aspects. Before anything else, I am a woman. So yes, the fashion may draw you in, but I encourage you to engage in my blog to get more of an understanding of who I actually happen to be.... A peak into my life outside of social media. I'm looking forward to you taking this journey with me as we #DISCOVERALLISON
